Last week the greenback again weakened
against all major currencies except for the Japanese Yen . Since the release of
the ISM Manufacturing Index and Non- Farm Payrolls which is not as expected,
the US dollar continues to weaken and continue until the last week in line with
the ISM Non-Manufacturing index and the trade balance are also below market
expectations . Weakening greenback peaks occur when the release of the minutes
of the FOMC meeting September 2015 which was more dovish than expected .
From the minutes of
the FOMC meeting seemed ready to raise interest rates , but at the last moment
canceled realized. In addition to waiting for repair jobs data as mentioned in
the final statement, the FOMC members also see the low level of inflation and
the strong exchange rate of USD as the primary consideration for delaying the
rise in interest rates. Although considered dovish but the majority of FOMC
members still expect a rate hike this year , including the chairman of the
Federal Reserve Janet Yellen, while most analysts expect the Fed interest rate
will persist until March of next year.
The movement of the
greenback this week will be determined by the retail sales data ( Wednesday)
and inflation in September (Thursday ) . September Retail Sales are expected to
rise 0.2 % while total September CPI y / y expected to contract by 0.2 % ( or
-0.2 % ) and core CPI rose 1.8 % return . If the results of the release below
the expectations of the estimated USD to fizzle . Meanwhile the commodity
currencies shine again last week . The increase in oil prices boosted the
loonie and increased milk price index causing the Kiwi strengthened , also iron
ore prices rebound and gold make the Aussie back rally .
